Earners

Knack Earners are individuals who may be experiencing barriers to traditional employment AND are eager to showcase talents they have and learn new ones. Knack earners are able to gain badges for workplace-related skills and showcase them to access a pool of income-generating opportunities.

Everyone is welcome to join Knack as a badge earner.

How to get started:

There are 8 fundamental soft-skills that are the first steps to be part of the program and taught through a free workshop series. Once you have been awarded the badges for the 8 fundamental soft-skills, you will then have access to the pool of income-generating opportunities. We have identified these initial soft-skills from speaking to employers as well as using Work BC’s list of “essential skills” for workplace readiness.

Commitment:

Each of Knack's 8 Fundamental Soft Skills are taught through a weekly FREE 2-hour workshop at Potluck Café.

    Step One

    Hear about Knack and learn more! - Learn more about the program from an Employer, Friend, or Resource Hub (e.g. Carnegie Community Centre)

  • 2

    Step Two

    Attend a Knack Workshop and earn a badge for the work completed.

  • 3

    Step Three

    Complete the suite of 8 Fundamental Knack Soft Skill Badges

  • 4

    Step Four

    Gain access to a Knack portal for income-generating activities and job postings.
